Band Cutters

These heavy-duty band cutters cut through aluminum bands like butter! It is a good idea to keep these on-hand in case of an emergency, or if you simply want to remove a bird's band. These can be used on aluminum bands as large as 18mm. 20mm and larger aluminum bands have thicker walls that these cutters cannot accommodate. For those bands as well as small stainless steel bands we recommend high-quality bonsai wire cutters, which we do not sell.

In order to use, have 1 or 2 people holding the bird and its foot so that it does not move. Then, another person cuts the band twice, on opposite sides so that it falls off.
